Apollo Explorer

The app was published as the result of the final project for the Apple Developer Academy course. Our group of 5 students had 3 months to come up with an idea, research about the topic, come up with a design and develop it.

Apollo explorer helps users to inspired by art at the Museum of Capodimonte in Naples, Italy. The app is a tour guide for visitors to the museum. It tells stories from the artist’s point of view. It’s possible to explore and search according to interests by browsing connected stories via #hashtags, or by choosing a curated tour.

It’s possible to scan a set of images at the museum and, utilising the machine learning model implemented with CoreML, find the information about the paintings.

The backend is hosted at Heroku, developed with Vapor framework.

Apollo explorer offers a fun, engaging way to visit Museum of Capodimonte.
